Au Revoir - Colette, Paris
For you Fashion Industry Folk & Fashionista's - this is a nostalgic article on Colette, the iconic "Go To" Parisian Boutique.
When Colette, in Paris officially closed in 2017, it was the end of an Era for me. Anyone & everyone in the fashion industry as well as fashionista's, celebrities & elites would visit Colette to peruse the hottest, coolest & newest in Fashion. For many; it was a place to be "in the know", "inspired" or just to "be seen". On our bi-annual inspirational shopping trips to Europe; Colette would be the first shop to hit on our list. It wasn't just a shop it was an experience. Colette was one of the first retail concept stores, it was always fashion forward, cutting edge with a big "Cool Factor". Needless to say it was a scene. The store was always stuffed to the gills with peeps, you basically had a chance to quickly crowd through the store. As Colette was a bit overpriced, hindered by a high Euro, you wanted to be part of this experience... some how. Even if you just picked up a small tidbit from their book, stationery and beauty areas; or just came away with a cool gadget. A major highlight for me personally; was my fashion celebrity siting of the infamous Karl Lagerfeld with his posse of beautiful young boys in tow. It definitely was a "fashion moment" for me.
Thank you Colette for the fond memories!
